Getting rid of whitespace in Word

OK, so how many of you have copied text from various sources, with or without crappy formatting, into Word and have spent way too much of life removing illogical whitespace? Me too.

So. try this on for size;

under Edit menu --> Find --> replace

enter ^p^p in the Find box, then enter # in the replace  box. Clicking Replace All replaces all the junk with the # tag. You may have to keep clicking the Replace All button a few times, to eliminate all problem areas.

Then, do the same thing, but this time enter # under Find, and under ^p^p Replace. Prestro! There you have all the funk replaced by pound, which becomes the pointer for all paragraph spaces.

Why, thank you. I knew you would like... ;-)
